Assistant Professional / Teaching Professional: Cordova Bay Golf Course & The Ridge at Cordova Bay

Cordova Bay Golf Course is home to an 18-hole daily fee course, The Ridge 9-hole par-3, the PARC short-game facility, Top Tracer range, instructional programs, Bill Mattick’s Restaurant, and a pro shop stocked with all the gear golfers never knew they needed.

We believe in three things: continuous improvement, exceptional customer experiences, and having a great time delivering it.

Some days it means helping a teammate.
Some days it means fixing a flat tire.
And on rare occasions, yes, it means performing a heroic rescue mission involving a rogue pull cart drifting into a pond.

Picking up litter? Always.
Saying “That’s not my job”? Never. (Truly—heresy. We checked.)

Our team is the heartbeat of the operation, and we succeed or fail together. Spoiler Alert: we plan on succeeding.

Job Summary

We’re looking for a PGA of Canada Professional who is equal parts people-person and golf nerd (in the best way possible). Someone who cares deeply about instruction but also understands the bigger picture.

Responsibilities

Pro Shop Responsibilities

  • Deliver an outstanding guest experience—every shift, every golfer.
  • Bring your sense of humour. (We use it daily.)
  • Channel your inner Dalai Lama when the phones, customers, and inbox all erupt simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Familiarity with Club Prophet and Golf Genius? Big bonus.

Instruction / Coaching Responsibilities

  • Follow Cordova Bay’s established Coaching Standards.
  • ‘Equipment affects Motion’ – Clubfitting knowledge is key
  • Foresight GC Quad training
  • Deliver both group & individual lessons
  • Maintain a clean, reliable student database with consistent follow-ups and service
Qualifications

To us, core swing concepts mean more than numbers:

Path – Guiding someone new onto the lifelong path of enjoying this great game.
Face Angle – If you’re not smiling, something has gone terribly wrong.
Ground Force – Inspiring juniors and shaping great young humans who just happen to love golf.
Trajectory – Helping golfers achieve their lofty goals, whether that’s breaking 80 or simply making solid contact.

You’ll assume a role in promoting and delivering our junior golf programs at both facilities. You’ll also help us create fun, fresh, accessible instructional experiences for new and casual golfers—showcasing everything Cordova Bay has to offer.

All PGA professionals contribute directly to the pro shop schedule and will have a regular presence on the front lines.

Compensation
  • Hourly wage for pro shop shifts
  • 75% of lesson revenue
  • PGA dues paid upon return for the 2027 season
  • Complimentary access to all Cordova Bay facilities
  • Staff discounts on meals & merchandise
  • Eligibility for HUB Benefits Program after one year
