- Responsibilities

We are seeking an Assistant Golf Professional to:
- Support the Director of Golf & Curling by assuming full responsibility of the Golf Operation including special events, Junior instruction and Curling operations.
- Develop great member relations.
- Assist in the daily planning, supervision and execution of complete golf and curling operation.
- Club fitting and basic club repair, including re-gripping.
- Organize and oversee weekly leagues and member and outside events.
- Support the retail operation through sales, merchandising, and inventory management.
- Inventory control, merchandising and maximizing Pro Shop revenue through effective selling techniques.
- Provide private and junior instruction to members.
- Assist with tournament operations using Golf Genius software.
- Assist in the publication of newsletters, social media, informational and promotional materials.

- Strong business expertise in planning, retail management, and facilities management and will use these skills to deliver excellence in operations management.
- Comfortable with communicating a vision, being highly visible and engaging. You will be our ambassador with members, staff, guests, industry representatives and future members.
- The ability to deliver excellent members and guest experience, which drives your proven ability to lead a team of friendly, engaging, service-oriented staff and volunteers.
- A proven track record of teaching, coaching a developing a junior program brings the opportunity of golf and curling to all the young people within our community, providing appropriate solutions for those who potentially cannot afford to take part for themselves.
Qualifications being sought:
- PGA of Canada member in good standing.
- Keen to learn or ideally experienced in Curling operations and managing bonspiels.
- Post-Secondary Degree/ Diploma in Golf Management and/or Business Management.
- Very detailed and team-oriented with a strong focus on exceptional customer service.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in tournament software (Golf Genius or similar) and Tee-On POS system is an asset.
- Ability to teach and inspire golfers of all levels especially junior golf.
- Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Proficient computer skills in particular Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel & Word).
- Compensation
- Salary Range: $900 - $1,150/per week
