Lakeland Golf Management is seeking the services of an Assistant/Associate Golf Professional for its Tuxedo Golf Course location.
Conveniently located in the Tuxedo/Charleswood area of west Winnipeg, across from Assiniboine Park, Tuxedo is a busy public golf facility featuring an 18-hole course, driving range and newly refurbished 18-hole mini golf course.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Head Golf Professional, the successful applicant will assist with all aspects of the daily operations of the golf program, retail sales and services, golfer registration and contribute to the overall customer experience while demonstrating strong dedication and a desire to advance further in the golf industry.
Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing efficient and friendly service to all members of the public.
  • Demonstrating good knowledge of the golf industry, products and related items to drive overall sales revenue.
  • Provision of a teaching/instruction program for individuals of all abilities including group lessons and junior/ladies clinics.
  • Operation of the central counter area including registration and check-in of all golfers, recording tee time reservation by phone or in-person, collection of sales and fees related to the driving range and mini golf areas and handling all enquiries in a courteous manner.
  • Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and good relations with other staff members working in unison to ensure a smooth operation and overall enjoyable customer experience.
  • Ensuring that all golf course rules and policies are adhered to within the established guidelines.
  • Opening of the course and clubhouse, staging of carts and equipment to begin the day and ensuring proper lockup procedures are followed at the end of the day.
  • Recording of all daily POS sales reports and cash recording and management at the end of each day.
  • Supervision and assistance to junior staff members in their roles and performance of light cleaning and maintenance duties to ensure a clean and well organized golf shop and outdoor facility area.
  •  Performance of other general duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  •  Must be a C.P.G.A. member in good standing.
  •  Strong customer service skills, experience with POS systems and previous cash handling skills and experience.
  •  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  •  Previous experience offering a P.G.A.-oriented golf instruction program both to individuals and groups.
  •  Strong time management skills.
  •  An ability to be tactful and possess good self control when faced with challenging situations.
  •  Superior interpersonal skills showing the ability to greet people easily and work cohesively with other staff members and departments.
Compensation

Starting Salary: $3,700 to $4,500 per month depending on experience.

100% of all lesson revenue.
