Lead Coach: LABsters Junior Golf Program

LABsters is a premier junior golf program in Surrey, BC, dedicated to fostering young golfers' skills in a fun, structured, and development-focused environment. Our mission is to introduce kids to golf, help them progress through various skill levels, and instill a lifelong passion for the game. This award-winning program has been operating for over 14 years and after 3 years of operating incredibly successful summer camps at its satellite location at The Clayton Hills Golf Course, the program will be moving there full time in 2025. The summer camps have had great success and we want to build off that momentum. With a high traffic location at Hwy #10 and 188th street near the border of Surrey and Langley, the location is central to thousands of kids. We have a long email list and great brand awareness in the community. This is a turn key opportunity for a PGA of Canada instructor that is passionate about growing the game to launch a successful teaching career.

Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and driven Lead Coach to shape the future of the program and deliver high-quality instruction to junior golfers of all skill levels. The Lead Coach will play a pivotal role in program development, ensuring engaging, educational, and effective training sessions while fostering a positive learning environment. You will lead the instruction of the LABsters Spring Break and Summer Camps as well as the year round LABsters junior golf programming. You will have access to the 9 hole Clayton Hills Par 3 course as well as the use the The BackYard, a brand new state of the art 20,000 sq ft artificial turf short game facility as well as 4 hitting nets. Additionally, there are endless opportunities at The BackYard to build a private lesson clientele, develop and grow Adult New-to-Golf Programs, as well as Ladies Nights and other programming.
Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach junior golf classes, camps, and clinics in accordance with LABsters' curriculum.
  • Provide individualized feedback to students, helping them progress through skill levels.
  • Supervise and mentor assistant coaches.
  • Maintain a fun, safe, and inclusive learning environment for all participants.
  • Assist in program promotion and outreach efforts within the community.
Qualifications
  • PGA of Canada certification.
  • Previous experience coaching junior golf programs or youth sports.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Passion for youth development and growing the game of golf.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Compensation
At the BackYard, we are committed offering competitive compensation that reflects the value and dedication of our team. We also believe in creating a fun work environment that fosters growth, and providing opportunities for professional development. This position offers 10 months employment (February-November) with a starting Salary of $5,000 per month (plus incentive bonuses) for the execution of the Labsters program. There is also room to grow as the program grows. In addition, your annual PGA of Canada Dues will be paid at the completion of each season and you will be paid 70% of the revenue for any additional clinics, private lessons, or other instruction taught. Expected annual total compensation is anticipated to be $70,000 - $90,000 with room to grow.
