Job Summary
As the Director of Golf & Experiences you will oversee and manage all aspects of the golf operations and Experiences department at Muskoka Bay Resort . This includes ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards of course conditions, managing staff, organizing events, and maximizing revenue opportunities. Your leadership will play a crucial role in delivering an outstanding golf experience for our members and guests.
Responsibilities
  • Creates a member service-oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and meets the needs of the members.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve member and guest satisfaction.
  • Oversees the care and operations of all the guest facing experiences, pro shop facilities and associated physical assets.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors annual budget, revenue goals and expenses for golf operations department.
  • Provides timely and accurate reporting of all financial and non-financial information as directed, requested or required by management or representatives.
  • Monitors monthly and other financial reports/statements on a daily, weekly and monthly basis for the facility and takes effective corrective action when necessary.
  • Monitor financial performance and work with the Membership Sales Director in the promotion of new member leads, interaction with prospective members and orientation of new members.
  • Develops, maintains and administers sound organizational plans and initiates improvements as necessary.
  • Work closely with all of the resort departments to maximize total property revenue: Sales, Marketing and F&B.
  • Conduct effective hiring, training, coaching and counselling according to organizational polices.
  • Creates a member service-oriented atmosphere that promotes the game of golf and Develop and execute the golf marketing and membership plans with the General Manager, Marketing team and Freed Golf division.
  • Ensures the highest standards of quality for on course food and beverage services in partnership with food and beverage departments.
  • Implements policies and procedures for the Golf and Experiences Departments, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products, programming and services.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to Head Professional, Tournament Coordinator, Teaching Professionals, Golf Services Manager, Experiences Manager, and Retail Manager.
  • Provides leadership and vision to golf staff, building people, and preparing them for career advancement. Weekly staff meetings

Director of Experiences Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Experiences teams ensuring that consistent, enthusiastic and memorable delivery of service is provided
  • Working with the Experiences Manager to develop and execute innovative guest experience strategies aligned with the Muskoka Bay Resort brand and values including outdoor adventures, themed programming and targeted events
  • Work with the Experiences Manager to develop and manage budgets for activities and programs, sourcing equipment and resources necessary
  • Work with the Experiences team to develop strategies for capturing participation, satisfaction and feedback to evaluate success
  • Partner with local operators to offer authentic and exciting options for guests to experience
  • Prepare reports for Leadership on guest engagement trends and new opportunities
Qualifications
  • Must be a member in good standing of the CPGA
  • Minimum 2-3 years of leading a team
  • Strong business acumen with demonstrated skills.
  • Successful completion of a recognized Golf Management/Operations program.
  • Director of Golf in a Four Diamond Resort (preferred)
  • Experience with a diversity of golf course operations: resort, semi-private
  • Thorough understanding of the Golf Retail industry
  • Must be polished and professional and have excellent communication skills
  • A demonstrated passion for guest service, and exceeding expectations.
  • Great computer skills required, including experience with Microsoft Office, LightSpeed, POS, retail inventory and familiar with Web based golf partners.
Compensation
$70,000-90,000/year, commensurate with experience.
