Job Summary
This role ensures high-quality service across all outlets, delivering exceptional guest experiences while optimizing profitability, maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations, and fostering a positive, engaged team environment. The Food & Beverage Manager leads all food and beverage supervisory and service teams, balancing operational excellence with strategic planning to support year-round business performance.
Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Service Delivery

  • Oversee daily food and beverage operations across all service areas, including the Deerfield Pub, events and tournaments, bar services, canteen, and beverage cart.
  • Ensure consistently high standards of service, presentation, cleanliness, and guest experience across all outlets.
  • Act as the on‑floor leader during peak service periods, events, and tournaments, providing hands‑on support as required.
  • Proactively address member and guest feedback, resolving concerns promptly, professionally, and in alignment with club service standards.

Team Leadership, Recruitment & Engagement

  • Lead, coach, and support all food and beverage team members, fostering a positive, respectful, and high‑performance work environment.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and orientation of food and beverage team members.
  • Build strong team engagement through regular communication, recognition, and consistent leadership practices.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration within the department and across club operations.

Training, Performance Management, & Scheduling

  • Develop and oversee training for new and existing team members to ensure service consistency, safety compliance, and role competence.
  • Prepare staff schedules that align with operational needs, service demands, and labour budget targets.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and support performance improvement as required.
  • Ensure staff certifications (food safety, liquor service, etc.) remain current and compliant.

Financial Management, Inventory & Cost Control

  • Manage inventory, ordering, and cost controls to meet budget and profitability targets.
  • Monitor food, beverage, and labour costs, preparing reports and recommendations as required.
  • Monitor usage and waste and implement cost-control measures as needed.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and recommendations, related to departmental performance as needed.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu planning, pricing, seasonal offerings, and service executions.
  • Work closely with the Event Coordinator to plan and deliver food and beverage services for club events, banquets, tournaments, weddings, etc.
  • Support marketing and promotional initiatives related to food and beverage offerings and specials.

Administration & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, occupational health and safety, and liquor service regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards throughout all service areas.
  • Handle member and guest feedback professionally, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

Primary Working Relationships

  • Internal: Administration and Golf Operations teams
  • External: Members, guests, clients, vendors, and contractors where applicable
Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in food and beverage management, hospitality, or club operations.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in a service‑focused environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards, inventory control, and cost management.
  • Valid food safety certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid liquor service certification (e.g., Serve Right or equivalent).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by club operations.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a private golf club or resort environment.
  • Post‑secondary education in hospitality management, business, or a related field.
  • Experience overseeing events, banquets, or tournament service.
  • Familiarity with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and scheduling software

Compensation
$70 000 - $85 000 per year.
